FIELD TRIP--Tuesday, January 24—Children's Yoga Workshop: Staunton
*Only families preregistered may attend with Raw Learning. Spring Trimester field trips will be available to register for in March.
10:35am-Arrive at Shanti Yoga located at 16 W. Beverly Street in Staunton. Park on street or in the Johnson Street parking garage. To locate Shanti Yoga look for an unmarked wood arched door in a gray stone building across Fretwell Bass and the Masonic Building and diagonal from Baja Bean.
Help your child(ren) get situated. You can stay or leave (if your child(ren) feel(s) comfortable without you.)
Yoga is most easily facilitated in stretchable clothing. Please bring a yoga mat, if you have one. If not, one will be provided for your child(ren).
Promptly at 10:45am-The Children's Yoga workshop begins. Please don't be late. It is difficult for adults to stay focused with folks arriving during class. For kids, it is usually bordering on impossible.
11:45am-Head to Shenandoah Pizza (just up the street) for lunch. More information below.
The Split Banana, Co.: Staunton
1:00pm-Arrive Split Banana, located at 7 West Beverly Street, to make and enjoy some ice cream.
2:00pm-Finish field trip.

Peaceful Parenting and Self Care
Are you seeking more joyful and harmonious relationships with your children?
If you are, come check out our discussion group that usually meets the 4th Friday of every month. We meet to support one another as we explore and practice non-coercive parenting and consensual living. This is a parenting practice that values the wants and needs of everyone equally - regardless of age - and avoids power struggles through the creation of mutually agreeable solutions.

• This month we will focus on "empathic mediation."
• We will spend the first half of the meeting setting goals for self-care for the upcoming month.
• During the second half, we'll discuss this article (please read before attending) and apply the information about "empathic mediation" to conflict situations we have encountered (both at home and at Raw Learning).
