Field Trip-Tuesday, November 17—JMU Planetarium Ice Worlds & Mini Star Talk + Harrisonburg Children’s Museum
*Only families preregistered may attend with Raw Learning. Winter Trimester field trips will be available to register for in December.
9:30 AM-Leave Raw Learning. (Please call or email and let Gleamer know if you would like to meet her there and follow her to James Madison University.)
10:00 AM-Arrive James Madison University. Here are directions from Raw Learning. http://tinyurl.com/yz9l3h7 Pull into the M parking lot off of Grace Street and stop your vehicle in between the M and Miller Hall. Here is a map of the JMU campus. http://web.jmu.edu/parking/map.asp Either William, from the Planetarium, or Gleamer will be handing out Visitor Parking passes so that you can park on Campus. Park in one of the few spots available in one of the parking lots and come into Miller Hall and go to the Planetarium. It might take you some time to find a parking spot.
10:30 AM-Watch Ice Worlds followed by a Mini Star Talk (10 minutes or less!). http://www.jmu.edu/planetarium/index.shtml
11:30-12 – We will go to the Harrisonburg Children's Museum http://www.hcmuseum.org/cms/ (located at C on the Mapquest directions). Parking for the Museum is available in the East Elizabeth St parking garage which can be located by turning right onto East Elizabeth off of Main St. Lunch can be eaten in a reserved room in the museum. Please bring your Harrisonburg Children's Museum membership card, if you have one. Otherwise, admission is $4.50 for kids. Adults and kids less than age 2 are free.
1:30-Leave to return to Raw Learning.
